Julia Büsser is a human rights and environmental advocate with over a decade of experience supporting Indigenous communities, particularly in Brazil. As Program Manager at the Society for Threatened Peoples Switzerland, she leads the Amazonas Program, fostering local partnerships and advocating for biodiversity and social justice. Julia also serves on the Advisory Board of the Swiss National Contact Point (NCP) for Responsible Business Conduct and is active in local politics and education initiatives.

Julia Büsser is a dedicated advocate for environmental protection and human rights, deeply rooted in the belief that the two are inseparable. With over ten years of experience working with and empowering Indigenous communities across Latin America—especially in Brazil—she brings a unique perspective on global justice, biodiversity protection, and social transformation.
As Program Manager at the Society for Threatened Peoples Switzerland, Julia is responsible for designing, managing, and implementing the Amazonas Program, fostering strong collaborations with local partners, and representing the program to public, political, and institutional stakeholders. Her work emphasizes decolonial perspectives, Indigenous rights, and the intersection of environmental and social justice.
Beyond her core role, she serves as an NGO representative on the Advisory Board of the Swiss National Contact Point (NCP-CH), advising on the application of the OECD Guidelines for responsible business conduct. Julia is also politically engaged as a board member of Grüne Rapperswil-Jona and contributes to education governance as a member of the local school council.
She holds a Master's degree in Latin American Studies and has further specialized in Impact Management, Design Thinking for Sustainable Development, and Female Leadership. With experience spanning grassroots activism to strategic governance, Julia Büsser is a powerful voice for those defending their land, culture, and the planet.
