Dr. Franziska Gaupp is a food system scientist and social transformation researcher. For over ten years, she has worked on climate risks to the global food system, pathways to sustainable agriculture, and a nature-positive future. She is currently based at the University of Osnabrück, where she investigates how inner skills such as creativity, empathy or a sense of agency can support the sustainability transformation.

In addition to her academic work, Franziska founded Aweledge, a consultancy focused on societal transformation.
Before joining the University of Osnabrück, she held research positions at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). As Director of the “Food System Economics Commission” (FSEC), a collaboration between PIK and the non-profit organization EAT, she gained experience in the science-policy interface.
Franziska holds a DPhil (PhD) from the University of Oxford, an MSc in Ecological Economics from the University of Edinburgh, and a BSc in Economics from the Free University of Berlin.
