Chourouk Gorrab
About:
Chourouk Gorrab (she/her) is a communications expert with 14 years of experience and the co-founder of The Spill, an online publication dedicated to amplifying voices from marginalized communities. Chourouk began her career in marketing within the travel and media industries before relocating to London in 2011, where she expanded her expertise across PR, events, and content strategy. She has since worked with organizations in sectors including FMCG, tech, climate and sustainability, and NGOs, promoting initiatives such as sustainability trends, clean cooking access for vulnerable communities, and natural hazard prevention. Driven by a passion for environmental, racial, and social justice, Chourouk co-founded The Spill, a platform with a mission to offer the Global Majority and marginalized voices a safe space to share their authentic stories. Since its launch on January 1, 2021, The Spill has regularly featured personal essays, opinion pieces, and interviews covering diverse themes—from personal journeys and self-exploration to arts, politics, environment, and culture.
Anchored in principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, Chourouk aims to apply her skills to drive meaningful, on-the-ground impact. This journey earned her skills in engaged communication, leadership, and advancing diversity and inclusion. Currently based in London (UK), Chourouk has been actively expanding her knowledge of climate action. Part of Terra.do’s Climate Change: Learning for Action cohort in Spring 2024, Chourouk is currently volunteering at Capacity.eco, where she leverages her communications expertise to raise awareness of the NGO and expand its impact.
